Dear MPE Fifth Grade Parents:

Thank you to everyone who attended our meeting last week! We love your energy, ideas and support! For those unable to attend, no worries! Below is a summary of the information provided and we are available to answer any questions you have.

It’s hard to believe that our children are entering their final year at MPE. This year will be a very exciting time for them! Not only do they feel tremendous pride in being the oldest students at MPE, but they also look forward to the many exciting traditions of 5th grade. These special traditions and activities are made possible through the Fifth Grade Fund.

What does the The Fifth Grade Fund pay for?

A fun filled year-end trip for all 5th grade students – this year, we will continue the tradition with a trip to a local day camp in June, 2025
A gift to MPE (In past years, classes have funded benches, recess equipment, new playground equipment, iPads, and outdoor garden supplies)
End of the year celebrations/parties/graduation decor, lawn signs
A yearbook for each student
Apparel for each graduating student
A donation toward Project Graduation for their LHS graduation program

** To fund all of the above, our goal is to raise a minimum of $14,000. This breaks down to approximately $175 per fifth grade student.**

How Are These Events Funded?

One of the responsibilities of the fifth graders and their families is to raise money for the Fifth Grade Fund. A committee of 5th grade parents holds several fundraisers all year including blacktop sales, half-day activities, Halloween boutique, a used-book fair, a used clothing drive and possibly a popcorn sale.

How Can You be Involved?

You can make a direct donation toward the 5th Grade Fund. Our goal is to raise $175 for each of our children. You can make this donation starting today on our MPE PTA website: mpepta.membershiptoolkit.com under “My Information and Forms”. This donation is optional and any amount is greatly appreciated, as it alleviates the burden of fundraising and on our Volunteers. Please note that every student in our graduating class will be included in every event and receive all items equally regardless of what is donated.
Update your child’s Info on the Membership Toolkit to indicate they are in 5th Grade!

Go to https://mpepta.membershiptoolkit.com/open_forms
Go to the Family Information Tab and for your child update their Grade to 5th Grade. Then once you know your student’s teacher, update that item as well. This ensures that when students are signed up for events or you purchase items on toolkit that it goes to the correct class.

If you would like to be a Chair or Volunteer for a 5th Grade program/fundraiser, please click on the following link to fill out the sign up form. Committee chairs will be identified by August since many programs begin immediately after the start of the school year.
If you are not yet signed up for Remind Texts this is a great way to receive brief text reminders about events for MPE and specific for our 5th Graders. Send a text to *81010 and in the content enter @mpepta2025 and you will automatically be signed up!
